The Trauma and Military Intermediate Life Support (TMILS) programme is designed to provide specialised training and revalidation for both senior consultants and junior medical practitioners in advanced paediatric resuscitation and trauma management. The programme integrates evidence-based principles of Trauma Integrated Life Support (TILS) with current innovations in military medicine derived from modern operational and combat environments.

TMILS addresses the unique clinical demands and operational constraints associated with delivering effective trauma care in military and austere settings. These environments require adaptations of conventional civilian trauma assessment and treatment protocols to account for limited resources, time-critical decision-making, and high-risk conditions. Accordingly, the TMILS curriculum translates and applies validated civilian trauma care methodologies to military contexts, where logistical and clinical challenges differ significantly from standard healthcare settings.

The programme has been developed specifically for military healthcare providers, Riot police, and Rapid intervention Emergency Personnel ranging from combat medics to physicians, and incorporates recent advances in medical trauma care, tactical emergency casualty management, and paediatric emergency response. Training is delivered through scenario-based learning, with military-specific simulations tailored to the operational realities faced by armed forces personnel and humanitarian responders in conflict and disaster zones.
