MSc by Research in Information Technology
Course Description
The Master of Science by Research (MSc) in Information Technology at Pro Deo International University is a postgraduate research. The programme is designed for graduates who wish to deepen their expertise in Information Technology through independent, original, and methodologically rigorous research.
The programme follows the second-cycle framework and is primarily research-focused, with limited taught components dedicated to research methods, ethics, and academic skills. Students work closely with an academic supervisor to investigate a specialised topic within the broad field of Information Technology, culminating in the submission of a substantial master’s thesis.
Research topics may be theoretical, applied, or interdisciplinary and may include areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, software engineering, cloud and distributed systems, human - computer interaction, and the ethical, legal, and societal implications of digital technologies. Interdisciplinary research linking IT with fields such as engineering, healthcare, public policy, or governance is strongly encouraged.
The MSc by Research provides a solid foundation for doctoral studies, as well as for research-oriented and specialist professional roles in industry, public institutions, and international organisations.
