Counselling with Insight, Compassion, and Purpose

The Level 5 Diploma in Biblical Psychology (Counselling Pathway) is a fully online programme jointly organised by Pro Deo International University and El-Roi London University. The course provides an academically grounded and integrative exploration of counselling psychology informed by biblical theology. It equips learners with theoretical knowledge and practical counselling insight while maintaining professional and ethical standards.

The curriculum covers key areas including counselling skills, human development, family systems, addiction, trauma, and emotional wellbeing, alongside the integration of biblical principles within psychological practice. Emphasis is placed on a relational and holistic counselling model, such as Relationality, Embodiment, Meaning, and Agency (REMA), supporting both personal formation and professional application in diverse counselling contexts.

Course Objectives

The programme aims to enable learners to:

  1. Develop a sound understanding of counselling psychology from a biblical perspective
  2. Integrate psychological theory with Christian theology in ethical counselling practice
  3. Apply relational and holistic counselling models to real-world contexts
  4. Examine human development, trauma, addiction, and family dynamics
  5. Demonstrate critical thinking, reflective practice, and research competence
